This will be as old as the printer, but Windows will have been updated many times, and I suspect that one of those updates contains something that doesn’t agree with the old drivers. The solution is to download and install the latest software and drivers for your printer from the HP support website. Incidentally, this is a good strategy for fixing sudden or unexpected problems with peripherals, which are obviously not due to a hardware fault.
