For a lobster boat captain, this was the equivalent of catching a great white ... or rather, a great blue. Bobby Stoddard of Clarks Harbour, Nova Scotia, and his crew caught a blue lobster in May. One out of every two million lobsters are blue, according to the University of Maine Lobster Institute's website: "The coloration comes from a genetic defect that causes the lobster to produce an excessive amount of a particular protein that gives the lobster that unique coloration."
